  • There are lots of options available for divorcing couples that want to avoid court and maintain privacy. SKS Legal can help if you are interested in exploring non-traditional, no-court options for your case.

The collaborative law process allows you to be fully represented by an attorney through your family law case while engaging in a series of mediations with your partner so that you can come to an agreement that best addresses the unique needs and circumstances of your life.

Private mediation, outside of the collaborative law process, allows divorcing couples to work together to come to an agreement without resorting to court intervention. You can go through private mediation with or without an attorney. If you choose SKS Legal for private mediation, we will help draft the documents you need to present to court so that you can finalize your family law matter with peace of mind knowing that your orders comply with Washington laws and court rules.

Cooperative law is an informal process where parties agree to try to negotiate a resolution before resorting to court intervention. In these types of cases, the parties agree to have a conversation about relevant issues before filing a motion for temporary orders. They also agree to exchange all necessary information in a timely manner so that the case can efficiently move towards a resolution. Both parties, and their attorneys, have to agree to engage in the cooperative process for it to work.

If you are not interested in a no-court divorce, SKS Legal, PLLC is also equipped to represent through the traditional family law litigation process.
